Digital Art project using TUXPAINT

The boys and girls of our 6th grade class have enjoyed our "different" art classes these past two weeks. When asked how many different ways we could draw or paint, many different types of materials came up, but, strangely enough, no one mentioned digital art.

So, we downloaded a great little program called "Tuxpaint", a free software which is apparently quite popular in a lot of schools, and which our kids enjoyed tremendously! Here you have some examples of the work done in our digital art project...

What's going on in the 6th grade art class?

It may be a bit difficult to know what the result of our arts and crafts sessions over the next couple of weeks is going to be, but, we can tell you that it has a lot to do with maths and with fun!!! Watch this space!

And thanks to our conversation assistant, Claire, for joining us in the class for a chat... we love talking to her!!!

Christmas Card Workshop in 6th grade

Look at these beautiful Christmas cards our 6th graders made in one of our Christmas workshops! The original ideas came from a video on youtube which students adapted in their own personal style. We think the results are great! And their families will think so too when they get to hang them at home... good job everyone!!!

Haunted castles in 6th grade

This Halloween, students from 6th grade prepared a Reader's Theater activity to share with the boys and girls from 5th grade. To complement the play, we decided to make our own haunted house using colour degradation to create an eerie background then adding the other elements. We love the outcome and it made for a great Halloween decoration in our school!
